Additional information;
At just over ½ a mile in length, Abercynrig is some of the finest of the middle Usk fishing, offering 1st class opportunities for salmon and trout anglers. Formerly the lower part of the Dinas & Abercynrig beat prior to 2016, there are 3 named salmon pools and the trout fishing is exceptional, with a good variety of water – dry fly flats, fast riffles and deeper pools.
Flowing over gravel for the most part, the wading is relatively easy with only the occasional rock to negotiate. Access to the water is good with vehicular access up to the water’s edge on the right bank where nearly all the fishing is from. When wet, the parking is a short walk (350m). This is a private, fly fishing only beat.
Anglers are requested to note that no dogs are permitted on the fishery.
