Mind The Redd!
Please be aware that this fishery is in a salmon spawning area and great care must be taken when wading in the winter. Stepping in newly formed salmon redds can have grave consequences for egg survival.
To ensure no damage is done, please wear a good pair of polaroid glasses when wading and keep an eye out for light patches in the gravels (usually redds are around 4 to 8 feet long), especially in pool tails. It is advisable to avoid wading over knee depth and if you come across what looks like a disturbance in the river bed, please wade around it giving as wider berth as possible.
Open: All year: grayling fishing from October 1st to March 2nd.
Species: trout, grayling, the occasional late season salmon.
Foliage factor: mostly clear with much of the water fishable from the bank.
Ideally fished with: 7.5 to 8.5, 3 to 6wt rod.
Restrictions: fly fishing only, no barbed hooks, and no dogs.
Anglers to move upstream only when fishing.
Catch and release of all species is compulsory.
